Welcome to Christy's Taekwondo where learning is fun and individualized for each student! No matter your age or level of experience you will learn taekwondo and have a great time. We are the oldest taekwondo school in Covington, and Master Christy is one of the most experienced instructors in Northern Kentucky.
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that translates as "the Art of hand and foot". It's roots are based on techniques used for thousands of years. Today it has grown into the most popular martial arts form. Taekwondo can benefit everyone regardless of athletic ability or age. Students develop flexibility, balance, coordination, and self discipline.
Beginner classes focus on basic techniques of blocking, punching, and kicking. These techniques are practiced as part of a form for each belt level and in sparring with other students. As your level of experience grows you will learn more advanced techniques, this is different for each person and you will progress at your own pace.
At Christy's Taekwondo we get to know each student personally and will work around any limitations you may have. Our focus is on the individual and teaching important self defense techniques that you can apply to real life situations. We teach Taekwondo with the hope that you will never have to use what you have learned, but you will have the skills if necessary.
Christy's Taekwondo also provide MMA (mixed martial arts) classes. We teach ground grappling and stand up fighting.
